A study of fantasy literature from its origins in mythology, folk tales, and fairy tales to modern short story, film, and novel treatments. As a result of this course, students will be able to distinguish the unique traits of the fantasy genre, sub-genres, historical context, and modern expression and demonstrate knowledge of fantasy through literary analysis and creative writing.
