ENGL 0870 - Basic and Developmental Writing


Basic and Developmental Writing is a review of grammar and mechanics which concentrates on sentence patterns and diction, paragraph organization and development of the short essay. The course emphasizes elements of the writing process such as grammar and diction, sentence control, the paragraph, the essay, the research process, paper topic choice and idea development, and various modes of written discourse.
