BUSN 2430 - Financing Issues in Small Business

Financing Issues in Small Business is a study of realistic and practical financial concepts critical to operating a small business. Topics include: financial concepts; management and planning; development and analysis of financial statements; use of profitability and break-even analysis; development of pro forma financial statements; working capital management; time value of money; capital budgeting; tax regulations and responsibilities with regard to reporting and filing a variety of state and federal tax forms; Tennessee and IRS forms and guidelines; overview of the types of business organizations; basic record keeping; preparation of financial statements; retirement plans for the self-employed; and business use of the home.
