NURS 2000 - Nursing Process I
Nursing Process I is the first in a series of four nursing courses designed as a comprehensive program to encompass the central competencies of assessment, collaboration, communication, management of care, caring interventions, clinical decision-making, professional behaviors, and teaching/learning. Nursing Process I emphasizes the application of the competencies in medical/surgical settings. Content will focus on the circulatory, respiratory, integumentary, sensorineural, gastrourinary, musculoskeletal, and gastrointestinal systems. Other topics discussed will include rehabilitative, operative, infectious disease, and emergency care. Nutritional aspects of each disease process will also be incorporated. Clinical experiences will be in a variety of health care settings for patients across the lifespan.
Prerequisites & Notes
Prerequisites: BIOL 1230, NURS 1100, and NURS 1200.
Corequisite: PSYC 1310.
10 Credit Hours - 6 Lecture Hours, 6 Lab Hours, 6 Clinical Hours
