Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT)

The AEMT Program is delivered through a combination of classroom instruction (didactic and psychomotor) and clinical experience. Upon successful completion of the course, students are eligible to sit for the National Registry’s written and practical examinations. Upon successful completion of examinations and other licensure requirements, the student will be eligible for the State of Tennessee AEMT license. The AEMT renders life support to patients at the scene of their injuries or illnesses and prepares these patients for transport to the hospital. Students must successfully complete all EMSA courses with a grade of “C” or better to be eligible for state licensure and/or national registry.

Note: All courses must be from the Approved Courses for General Education  courses for each category listed in the General Education section of this catalog.
