  • INTC 1040 - Chemical Industry Process Lines


    Chemical Industry Process Lines is an introduction to the chemical industry process lines. Coverage includes: terms and symbols, principles of electricity and electrical equipment, heat exchange, piping, flanges, blanks, rupture disk, filters, strainers and screens, steam traps, valves, vents, pumps, condensers, vessels, silos, motors, switches, steam vacuum jets, conveyors, hydraulics systems, and boilers. Troubleshooting techniques are emphasized.

  • MATH 1530 - Probability and Statistics (Non-Calculus Based)


    Probability and Statistics (Non-Calculus Based) is designed to emphasize statistics as a decision-making tool and to introduce basic concepts of the discipline. This course includes: descriptive statistics; an introduction to probability; probability distributions; linear correlation and regression; and statistical inference and hypothesis testing. Lab will emphasize the uses of computer software and calculators for statistical analysis and assumes proficiency in basic computer skills.

  • NURS 1100 - Nursing Concepts, Skills, and Processes


    Nursing Concepts, Skills, and Processes is an introduction to the practice of professional nursing through lecture, laboratory, and clinical experiences. The course focuses on learning about patient needs, practicing introductory nursing skills, and applying those skills and concepts in clinical experiences. Instructional methods introduce students to the eight central competencies essential to nursing practice: professional behavior, communication, assessment, clinical decision, caring intervention, teaching and learning, collaboration, and managing care. Clinical opportunities are specific to the adult population in acute and long-term care facilities.

    Prerequisites & Notes
    Prerequisites: BIOL 2010, BIOL 2020, ENGL 1010, MATH 1530, and computer proficiency.
    Corequisite: NURS 1200, BIOL 1230.
