CHEM 2550 - ♦Integrated Chemical Laboratory Analysis


Integrated Chemical Laboratory Analysis is designed to provide the student with an introduction to advanced chemical laboratory techniques including various instrumental, spectroscopic and chromatographic molecular analytical methods to include Fourier-Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FT-IR), Mass Spectroscopy (MS), Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR), Chromatography and an overview of metabolomics and characterization of cell metabolites. The course will be problem-based with students working in teams to identify a myriad of known and unknown compounds in the environment. The laboratory component will include five lab hours per week.
