Telecommunications Technology

The Telecommunications certificate program prepares individuals for employment as technicians who have the knowledge and skills to install and support telecommunication systems.

Some courses in the Computer and Information Sciences – Telecommunications certificate program will articulate into the Associate of Applied Science degree programs in Computer and Information Sciences

Requirements

Students must complete all remedial and developmental deficiencies or have appropriate entrance scores.

Fall

CPET 1500 - Introduction to Computer Networking Credits: 4
CSCI 1100 - Concepts of Computers and Applications Credits: 3
ELEC 1010 - Introduction to Electricity Credits: 4
TCOM 1010 - Telecommunication Fundamentals I Credits: 4

Spring

Elective - COOP or Technical Elective Credits: 3

ELET 1310 - Digital Circuits Credits: 4
TCOM 1020 - Telecommunication Fundamentals II Credits: 4

Technical Electives

Technical electives include but are not limited to all Computer Science courses above CSCI 1100, or all Electronics Technology, courses.
