Computer Information Technology - Concentration: Internet of Things*

The primary objective of the Internet of Things concentration (IoT) is to prepare individuals for employment in the field of computer science as an entry-level IoT technician. With the acquired skills and knowledge gained, the student will learn how to implement sensors, microcontrollers, with cloud-based storage, learn how to program embedded devices with serious consideration on security. Students will also develop strong critical-thinking skills and will learn by doing within a hands-on lab environment.

Accredited by the Association of Technology, Management, and Applied Engineering (ATMAE) will be pursued in 2024.

Note: All courses must be from the Approved Courses for General Education  courses for each category listed in the General Education section of this catalog.

Learning Support


Additional courses may be required to overcome deficiencies in English, mathematics, and reading.
