BSMG 2420 - Taxes and Licensing for Small Business


Taxes and Licensing for Small Business is a study of the use of IRS forms and guidelines. Upon successful completion of the course, students should possess a working knowledge of tax regulations and responsibilities with regard to reporting and filing employment taxes; self-employment taxes; personal income taxes; and social security taxes. Topics also include: an overview of the types of business organizations, basic recordkeeping, preparation of financial statements, retirement plans for the self-employed and business use of the home.
