Combination Welding

The Combination Welding technical certificate program is designed to prepare individuals for employment as welders in an industrial setting. Instruction is provided in blueprint reading, Oxy-fuel cutting, brazing and welding, stick-arc Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), Gas Metal Arc Welding (MIG), Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (TIG), plasma arc cutting, and carbon arc cutting.

Students enrolled in the program may attain selected certifications from the following organizations:

  • American Petroleum Institute (API)
  • American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
  • American Welding Society (AWS)
  • Tennessee Regulatory Authority (TRA)

All courses in the Combination Welding certificate program will articulate into the Associate of Applied Science degree program in Industrial Technology - Concentration: Welding/Metal Fabrication.

Requirements


Students must complete ENGL 0870, MATH 0890 and MATH 0891, or have appropriate entrance scores.
