General Education Requirements


Note: All courses must be from the Approved Courses for General Education  courses for each category listed in the General Education section of this catalog.

Additional Information


* Students transferring to the University of Memphis should take a BIOL or CHEM sequence.

** Students transferring to University of Tennessee at Chattanooga are required to take MATH 1710 . Students transferring to ETSU are required to take MATH 1530.

*** Recommended courses are ECON 2100 : Principles of Macroeconomics or ECON 2200 : Principles of Microeconomics.

**** Students who intend to transfer to University of Tennessee at Knoxville should take 6 credit hours of a non-U.S. History sequence to fulfill the History requirement.

***** Students who intend to transfer to the University of Tennessee at Martin should take BIOL 2010  as an elective, otherwise, the elective should be at the 2000 level only.

Additional Information Regarding Foreign Language


At some universities, foreign language may be required in certain programs that lead to the Bachelor of Science Degree. Complete information regarding foreign language requirements at each university may be found in the transfer and articulation websites of the Tennessee Board of Regents and the University of Tennessee System. Community college students are encouraged to be familiar with foreign language requirements at the universities and, if applicable, complete the requirements before transferring.
