General Education Requirements


Note: All courses must be from the Approved Courses for General Education  courses for each category listed in the General Education section of this catalog.

Transfer Requirements


Tennessee Transfer Path to UT/TBR four year universities in compliance with Complete College Tennessee Act of 2010.

* Students who plan to transfer to the University of Memphis (UoM) or University of Tennessee at Martin should complete at least one fine arts under the Humanities & Fine Arts general education requirement.

** Students who intend to transfer to the University of Tennessee Southern (UTS) are required to take MATH 1530 .

*** Students who intend to transfer to Tennessee Technological University (TTU) should take BIOL 1010  /BIOL 1020   or BIOL 1110  /BIOL 1120  . Students who intend to transfer to UTS should take BIOL 1110/1120. 

**** Students transferring to UoM should take an additional physical education or teacher education elective course. Students who intend to transfer to TTU should take EDUC 2210  and BIOL 2010 . Students transferring to UTS should take BIOL 2010. Students transferring to the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga are recommended to take MATH 1530.

Additional Information Regarding Foreign Language


At some universities, foreign language may be required in certain programs that lead to the Bachelor of Science Degree. Complete information regarding foreign language requirements at each university may be found in the transfer and articulation websites of the Tennessee Board of Regents and the University of Tennessee System. Community college students are encouraged to be familiar with foreign language requirements at the universities and, if applicable, complete the requirements before transferring.
